Your Daily Grain for today: Do you know what you feel, about whom and why? Very critical that you read this right! #beyourownguru #BYOG

Today I want to dive into the murky waters of emotions.

Are you in touch with what you feel, about whom or what and for what reason?

Because this is a very undefined area, but it is critical for it to be defined. Because if you cannot assess accurately what you feel about something or someone and why, the actions you take are determined, are influenced by how you feel about what happened and who.

And very often, because we are afraid to look at say, the angst someone is causing us, or the angst a situation is causing us, we project that rather inappropriately on something else or someone else and then what happens is a fire storm of stuff that didn’t need to happen.

Regardless of how painful it is or how dodgy it is to look at what we feel, it is a very important step towards finding out what you really want in life.

So, an example could be like hanging with the popular crowd even though your very soul is crying out to stay away, even though it drains you, it exhausts you but you do it for… fill in the blanks. Your reasons are unique to you. The question to ask yourself is: what do you really feel about them? Do they really fit in your life? Do they really nourish your emotional self?

And once we can start identifying what we really do like and what we really do connect with we can start putting into place people, places and situations that nourish us. But until we find out what doesn’t you can’t even begin to find out what does.

So think about your life today. In the course of today, here’s a project for you, pay attention to how you feel. Do you start off the day really happy and then suddenly at end of the day you’re miserable. What was the process, what was the thread of events that brought you from one state to the other?

And the reverse is true, you could get out of the wrong side of the bed and in the course of the day you’re all cheered up. If you can keep tabs on why that happened and how it happened tomorrow you will be in a much better situation to assess how you feel about things and make that a constant check.

What is it that rewards you emotionally and what is it that really harms you? And obviously, do more of the former and less of the latter.

Alright, talk to you tomorrow.
